So the fight for Model Farm is continuing with a protest outside the Senedd planned for next Saturday, 21st August.

If you don't already know, Vale Of Glamorgan council have given outline planning permission to Legal & General which allows them to evict a 3rd Generation farmer from his leased land 110 acres and instead erect a 45 acre business park. This is disastrous for the village of Rhoose, Barry and Llanwtit Major.

When first muted a couple of years ago, the plans confirmed that an additional 2000 Motor Vehicles per day would be using Port Road as well as an additional 750 HGV vehicles.

It will destroy ancient woodlands, blight the landscape for miles and miles, remove much needed farmland and Bio Diversity areas, there is a risk of additional flooding in the Porthkerry areas. Post Brexit and in the world we're living in now, we need all the open green land we can keep, promote Bio Diversity, encourage sustainable farming and contribute to the wellbeing of all our residents.

There is plenty enough of brownfield sites in the immediate area to house this proposd Business Park but the Vale Of Glamorgan council wouldn't listen. Additionally, the Welsh Government has put up for sale the St Athan Enterprise Zone.

We are now campaigning to get the Welsh Government to overturn this disastrous decision, help us by joining Vale Communities Unite Against the Planned Development of Model Farm https://www.facebook.com/groups/2430462787280026 and come along to the protest next week.
