In order to get online, the technology requirements are relatively small but it's what goes with it that has taken the time. Having purchased all new equipment in 2019 for our mobile DJ activities, some of this has been pressed into service for Rhoose Radio and new software has been sourced with a learning curve to get to grips with it. Dealing with the music licensing authorities in order to ensure all our music broadcast is legally covered has been a challenge but now fully complete. Initially there will be a small number of live shows with additional hours filled by robotic song selection to keep the station online. Software used is RadioDJ along with Virtual DJ (for live sessions), VoiceMeeter for virtual mixing and Butt for sending the stream to the hosting servers at shoutcast.com. We will be investigating getting included on TuneIn's directory of radio stations but in the meantime, it is possible to add our station to favourites in TuneIn, details to be posted shortly. In the meantime, access to listening will be through the website which has tailoring included for mobile devices. It will be possible for guest hosts / DJs to stream legally via our website.
